If I use a <passwordParameter> in a custom panel then the password I type in is replaced with blobs to hide it. If have components then I get an option to use a http proxy, the password here is not hidden. How can I hide what I type in the http proxy password field, please ?

Currently it is not possible to configure it to show or hide passwords for proxy configuration in InstallBuilder.

We will investigate whether the behavior can be changed or configurable and provide you with an update once we know more about your suggestion.

In the meantime I have created my own http proxy page (with hidden password), I then call <httpproxyinit> (I presume that this will set the values for me). However, I'm still getting the default http proxy page, can I disable it ?

Currently it is not possible to disable the proxy parameter page. We will also consider making this configurable as it may also be applicable in other cases - i.e. if proxy configuration is retrieved from a configuration file by installer.

Ok, thanks. Two more questions:

1) any idea when either of these two items will make it into a release ?

2) I request web credentials before I display the components page (so that I can restrict it to only show components that the user has a licence for). However, I need to use the proxy to get the list from the server and the default proxy page pops up too late. Can I move the default http proxy page before the components display page ?

I would also like to disable or configure the proxy parameter page, but I see that it is currently not an option. Seeing as this post is 9 months old, I was wondering if there was an update on this.

This feature was implemented and an option to disable the proxy selection is available in latest version of InstallBuilder.

You simply need to set <showDownloadableComponentsProxyPage> to 0 - for example:

<project> ... <showDownloadableComponentsProxyPage>0</showDownloadableComponentsProxyPage> ... </project>
