Is it possible to hide/remove the disabled back button on the welcome screen? How can I change the text of the "next" button on the welcome screen to use a different string that's already defined (Installer.Button.Install)?

It is not possible to remove the button or change the button text at that early point of the installation. However, as you are trying to directly jump to the install page you could just overwrite the Installer.Button.Next string:

Installer.Button.Next=&Install

You can find a very detailed explanation of how to customize the built-in language strings here.

Thanks. I have a similar question about custom strings here: http://answers.bitrock.com/questions/1551/hide-installation-progress-text I'd be grateful if you had an answer to that as well
