I have a componentGroup that has about 20 child components. By default all the component is selected. If I just want to select one of the child component, I have to unselect the other 19 components. If I unselect the parent component, I can't select the child anymore. I think the common behavior is if the parent is unselected, the child can still be selected which also puts the parent in selected. Is there a way to achieve this?

It is not possible to do it this way - this is a matter of different approach to selecting the children.

InstallBuilder preserves the state of all child components when a parent is not selected - this way when a user clicks on a child component accidentally, he/she will not discard default/previous selection of components.

In cases where large number of components are available, we recommend showing a page before component selection that shows some presets of installation (i.e. typical, full and custom). Then, based on user selection, certain components may be (de)selected and project.allowComponentSelection variable may be set to show/hide component selection page.

Also, I apologize for the late response. Due to an issue with notification system, we have missed this question.
