Is there a way to validate the string parameter while the user is in the same page? For e.g To restrict a stringparameter to have only numeric value.

To be more specific, Is there a way to have validation before clicking the next button? For e.g on key change or tab key press perform a math based on value of the entered for a parameter and update the result as a value for another stringparamter

It is not possible to perform that kind of dynamic validations. You should use the <validationactionlist> instead (it requires clicking on the next button though).

Ok, then does that mean we can not use the user input given in one stringparameter to update the value in another stringparameter in the same page? (i.e obvioulsy before clicking the next button).

Am I right? If not please let me know how to update.

Correct. It is not currently posible to access the information the user entered in a field until next is clicked.
