I know, technically not a Microsoft-compliant question. Here's the thing. I have 2 installers. Once is for the primary product, and the second is for an ancillary group of plugins. I'm really only using it to configure existing installation files, so I don't need it to write anything into the "Add/Remove Programs" area for Windows OR create an uninstaller. What lines should I eliminate to keep the 2nd installer from writing these registry entries.

You can disable it by setting:

<project>
   ...
   <createWindowsARPEntry>0</createWindowsARPEntry>
   <windowsSoftwareRegistryPrefix></windowsSoftwareRegistryPrefix>
   <createUninstaller>0</createUninstaller>
   <startMenuGroupName></startMenuGroupName>
   ...
</project>

Which will also prevent the creation of the Software registry keys and the Start Menu entry.
