Hi, I'm working a multi-platform installer and the Solaris sparc version of it is particularly slower than the other platform versions'. Its particularly slow when building the uninstaller after the file insstallation. There is nothing platform-specific in my installations nor are my Solaris machines particularly slow with other applications. Are there any known issues with Solaris? Could you give me pointers on how to decrease the time taken to build the uninstallers, please? Also, is there a way to track the progress of building the uninstaller? I only get a start and stop logging in my install.log.

What version of InstallBuilder are you using? You can get this by running path/to/bin/builder --version.
Also, what is the time needed to create the uninstaller on Solaris and on other platforms?
How many files is your installer creating? Can you send us uninstall.dat from Linux and Solaris to email@example.com?
The Solaris platform may be slightly slower than Linux or OS X due to optimizations for Linux, OS X and Windows in certain compression and decompression libraries we use, however, the difference should not be noticeable when creating uninstaller.
