Hi, I want to sign the uninstaller in windows. I got answers in below link,

http://answers.bitrock.com/questions/4620/sign-uninstallexe-after-installation http://answers.bitrock.com/questions/720/how-can-i-add-digital-signature-to-uninstaller-on-windows

Both the link suggests

  1. To create a uninstaller seperatly
  2. Sign the uninstaller
  3. Bundle the signed uninstaller inside installer
  4. Deploy the signed uninstaller in user evnvironment.

Problem with this solution is,

The uninstaller will hold few informations like installation directory

For example, if user installs the app in different installation directory then the information about the installation directory will not be present in the signed uninstaller.

So in this case the signed uninstaller cannot uninstall the application. Since the installation directory details are not known.

Please provide a solution to sign the uninstaller in windows

InstallBuilder separates the uninstaller into two files, uninstall.dat, containing the per-installation data, and uninstall.exe, which is basically a binary runtime. Please note that using this process only the unsigned uninstall.exe will be overwritten, which will not contain that information.

Have you find any issues following those steps?
