In section 5.9 of the User Guide, it says, "If <allowaddremovecomponents> is enabled, a check is made to see if a previous installation exists in specified directory before the component selection page is shown."

We would like to run that test ourselves at the beginning of the installer, to skip some of the pages if a valid installation is found. Is that possible?

You could follow a similar approach than the recommended way to make the installers switch to upgrade mode. You can find more information in this link. Would that work for you?

Thanks, that is similar to the method we are currently using. I was just wondering if a better method existed.
