Hello, already asked for support as licensed user but got no reply after one day so... This is getting quite urgent and I'm trying here, too...

We've just added auto update feature to our application cross platform installer. It would work fine on Windows as the auto update program would download the "exe". However this would not work for OS X as the packaged "app" bundle cannot be properly downloaded.

We've been searching the forums for an answer to this problem and we did found something but we decided to ask you for a robust, cross platform solution.

For instance, given the fact that we're going to ZIP our installer packages for Windows and OS X, would be a good idea to have the auto update program running an unzip action to unpack them after download before running them regardless the OS executing the auto update program and the package being downloaded? In this case would you please provide a valid XML code snippet to help us quickly implement this behavior?

Thanks in advance, Fabio Burzigotti.

It is possible to achieve it by compressing your application installer bundle using a tar.gz file that the autoupdate tool will download and automatically uncompress and start.
