Hi I've figured out that it shows up a warning every time I try to uninstall single components or groups during uninstallation process. What does that warning mean: "MAUI" ?!?

I can't uninstall anything until I check a component next to a group of components, then the warning "MAUI" doesn't appear and I'm able to uninstall single components. Elsewise it will not work, however showing that confusing warning dialogue...

What could be wrong with my project or is it a bug?

PS: Problem doesn't appear if no component groups were used in the project. Problem always appears if just one component is invisible.

Alex

Workaround for the described problem:

The problem appears always if an invisible component or group has been installed (if not the MAUI warning will not appear during uninstallation of individual components/groups) To avoid the warning during uninstallation of individual components/groups, the invisible components/groups must be deselected in the <ComponentSelectionValidationAction> during installation.

I think the problem is that the user elsewise is not able to select the invisible component/group anyway during uninstallation at last. The uninstaller will note that and always shows that strange warning "MAUI"

Found another Case that shows MAUI: If I pack a group (two, three,...) into a group the same Problem accurs. I'm not able to deinstall individual components or child groups of components inside the "head"-group

Does anyone have a good hint for that Problem? Every time the same..."MAUI"

This is a bug. MAUI is an internal error code that should not appear anywhere. Could you run the installer with --debugtrace debug.txt option and send the debug.txt file to support@bitrock.com? For example:

For windows: C> installer.exe --debugtrace debug.txt

For OS X: /Path/to/installer.app/Contents/MacOs/installbuilder.sh --debugtrace debug.txt

For windows: /Path/to/installer.run --debugtrace debug.txt

We will then check the resulting file for the cause of the issue.

Hi Michiel, I have run the installer as well as the uninstaller with the debugtrace option and send it to the mentioned mail address. The warning/error will only accur during uninstalltion of individual components (one component is invisible) or if someone trys to uninstall a group inside a group - btw. a component inside a group as i mentioned before.
