I know how to create a group, entries, folders etc. But sometimes a former version of the group had some entries which are now no longer there.

Can I start with a clean-op of the group?

You can use the <deleteFile> to delete items in a Start Menu. For example:

<deleteFile> <path>${windows_folder_common_programs}/My Group</path> </deleteFile>
