It is possible to bundle a Java runtime with your application. In most cases, you just need to pack a java/ directory alongside your other files that contains the JRE files for your platform. Once installed, you can substitute ${installdir}/java in the appropriate launcher scripts or bat files to set the JAVA_HOME location.

Bundling a Java runtime increases the size of the installer, but in our experience it significantly helps decrease the number of support issues related to end-users having an older version of Java installed in the system (or none at all)
