What is the best way of getting the uninstaller to remove the ${installdir}? I'm being left with an empty directory like "c:Program Files/my company/my product/". The uninstaller is running from the ${installdir} directory which may be the problem, but where else do people put it?

Running from installdir should not be an issue. Do you have any cmd window with the installdir opened? Did you executed the uninstaller by doubleclicking on it or from a cmd? Did the installation directory exist before installing? (left there from a previous installation maybe?).

There was no cmd window open, I executed the uninstaller by clicking on the shortcut in the Start menu, the installation folder did not exist (It was an install on a newly installed OS)

On Windows, I'm also seeing this behavior, although not always, but sometimes.

The uninstaller does reside within the ${installdir}, and I'm calling it through the "Add/Remove Program" Control Panel.
