Hello. I'm trying to create simple test installer that creates Windows service. So I created a post-installation action with the following code:

<postInstallationActionList>
        <createWindowsService>
            <abortOnError>1</abortOnError>
            <displayName>test_service</displayName>
            <program>${installdir}/httpservice.exe</program>
            <programArguments></programArguments>
            <serviceName>test_service</serviceName>
            <startType>auto</startType>
        </createWindowsService>
</postInstallationActionList>

But during installation proccess I got the error message shown below. alt text

Can somebody help me solve the problem? Thank you.

P.S. I'm using evaluation copy of InstallBuilder 8. The service I'm trying to register by InstallBuilder I had successfully refistered and started manualy with "sc create" command.

Are you running the installer with elevated privileges? Which Windows version is it?

Also, can you run the installer with --debugtrace debug.txt options and send the debug.txt file to support@bitrock.com for us to troubleshoot it?

I'm running the installer as an administrator on my Win7. I've just sent the debugtrace to the mentioned email address.

The reason was wrong path to executable. Support team helped me find it out rather quickly. But why doesn't you show more informative error messages even in the log file? Thank you.
